Last week on Friday Ruapotaka school had our first ever mini Olympics. The whole school line up outside room 11 and room 12.
Their were 16 countries. The country that I was in was Germany. My favorite sport that i liked doing and enjoyed was the javelin. The school first started off with a opening ceremony and at the end we finished it off with a closing ceremony.

Modelling Clay
Last week on Friday our teacher was away from school so we had to stay with our principal. Our principal got us to do clay modelling. We went to the staff room and sat down to start on our clay. We all got a colour out of the bag, then started making something. As you can see in this photo I have made twins but i don't know what they are! I just made anything. I tell people that it's a penguin crossed with a bull because it looks like a penguin but I just added horns. I call them the Penbull twins. My friend Samuel is the person who named the twins.

Bond And Murray Win Gold
The greatest rowing team Hamish Bond and Eric Murray have won New Zealand's first gold at the Rio Olympics. They have won the men's pair final and that means their run of victories now sits at 69 races. Bond and Murray sat in about third positions over the first 500m of the 2000m race. But by the 1000m mark they were a boat length ahead. At the 1500m the rest of the field were simply battling it out for second with with Bond and Murray tow and a half lengths in front.

Hurricanes Win The Ruper Rugby Title For The First Time
The Hurricanes have won the 2016 Super Rugby title with a hard fought 20-3 against the lions. It is their first time winning the competition after losing twice in the final. Defense was the key of wining against the lions. The lions was the the top attacking side in the competition but they were unable to beat the Hurricanes line. The Hurricanes first five Beauden Barrett was the man of the match with another super display. He scored the final try of the game and hit two conversions and two penalties. Cory Jane the winger from the Hurricanes scored the only try in the first half.
